News Update - 3rd December 2019

Changes...

At the end of November, our great friend and bassist Mark Pittam took the decision to stand down from his role in the band. He enjoyed a fantastic send-off at Danfest in Leicester and will continue to work with us into the future, not least in helping us to bring to final fruition our next release. Mark, who played on the album, will oversee the post production. He will of course join us at the 30th anniversary gigs in April. Mark's place will be taken by JUMP legend Andy Faulkner, who rejoins for his second stint in the band. To say we are thrilled about that would be a gross understatement. The JUMP family has evolved into a community that we are extremely proud of and it will be a phenomenal experience to share the stage again with the different lineups. Saturday the 18th is sold out but there are still some tickets available for the Friday. If you want to be there. Don’t delay.

News Update - 15th October 2019

Some interesting shows are now confirmed for next year. Some we can tell you about and some we’re not yet allowed to. 2020 is the band’s 30th year in existence and we’ll be celebrating the anniversary of our first gig with two nights at The Limelight Theatre in Aylesbury. Before that we’re looking forward to a trip to the rather splendid and famous Hope and Anchor in Islington on Friday March 20th. Name a famous band... they’ve played there... and so we thought we’d like to join the ranks. We’ll announce another band sharing the night with us soon... The Aylesbury gigs will go on sale soon and will take place on April 17th and 18th. Later in the year we will return to the Summer’s End Festival - they announced us at this year’s event and we got rather a nice cheer by all accounts. That’ll be fun and always has a tremendous lineup. Discussions are under way for appearances on the South Coast, Merseyside, North Wales, The Midlands AND we will have a couple more festivals to announce soon.

Before 2019 concludes we will tread the boards next month at Kidderminster Town Hall with Let’s Zep and on December 1st at the Excellent DanFest at The Musician in Leicester. (Check times in the press).

30 Years of JUMP

Engrave the dates. April 17th and 18th 2020. The whole JUMP family will be gathering at The Limelight Theatre in Aylesbury for two extended sessions, to celebrate thirty years of the band’s existence. Don’t miss this unique chance to see the different line-ups play songs that may never be played live again. Pete Davies, Hugh Gascoyne and Andy Faulkner will all be there and there are some more very special guests lined up. The evening will be recorded, so if you want to sing on a JUMP album... best get there. This will be an amazing couple of days. As well as the music, there’ll be a couple of other ‘events within the event’ not to be missed.

Tickets will go on sale soon and there will be a limited number. We are playing the gigs at The Limelight Theatre because it has been a constant in our career and has always been supportive, helpful and friendly. It’s a fantastic little venue and since the demolition of The Nags Head Blues Loft In Wycombe, has been our adopted home.

Keep an eye out for tickets. Do not miss.

3rd April 2019
We enjoyed our recent series of gigs very much. There were many highlights, many miles covered, many conversations had, many songs played and the odd beer was quaffed. A real shame to lose the Glasgow gig to a licence issue - thankfully Ivory Blacks managed to overcome its problem but alas too late for us.
On May 11th, after much time in the rehearsal room, writing and demo-ing, we’ll be entering the recording studio to begin putting down tracks for our 14th studio album. We’ve been previewing the new material in the gigs and the response has been fantastic. We’re looking forward to doing the work, a consequence of which is that you won’t be seeing us play live for a while... in the meantime keep a look out for announcements and stories of interest on our Facebook feed. So. Here we go. Again.
